Period 1: Quotation Packet due Monday, 10/28. Continued discussion of the Declaration of Independence and Huck Finn. Beginning focus on satire techniques in the text (handout worksheet to be given out on Monday).

Chapters 17-18 due Tuesday (with study guide questions)

Chapters 19-21 due Wednesday (with study guide questions)

Chapters 22-23 due Friday (with study guide questions)

Periods 3 and 5: Food, Inc. Reflection due Monday. Discussion of reliability and expert research sources. Beginning Freakonomics project. Freakonomics project is due Tuesday 11/5.



Period 7: Quotation Responses for Ch. 8-16 will be collected on Tuesday. Discussion of the Declaration of Independence and its relation to Huck Finn as well as discussion of Jim Crow Laws and the Southern Reconstruction as reasons for Twain's writing this novel.

Satire and new reading assignments begin Wednesday.

Chapters 17 and 18 due Thursday.
