Week of 2/6 through 2/10

Period 1:

Working on essay for The House on Mango Street. Essay due Thursday (turnitin.com by 11:59pm).

Transitioning into our next book, Ethan Frome.

Ch. 4-6: Wednesday 2/22

Ch. 7-8: Thursday 2/23 (we will be having a graded discussion on this date with this (and prior) reading involved)

Ch. 9-Afterword: Friday 2/24



Period 3:

Reading The Crucible. Work on character profile chart for Act 1. Use specific details from the text to support your observations (especially from the given page numbers).

Working on Narrative Writing unit. Reading "Spelling Yiffniff," "Fish Cheeks," and "On Compassion" and student sample essays.

Rough draft due Tuesday (print out for class before class)




Period 6:

Working on Narrative Writing unit. Reading "Spelling Yiffniff," "Fish Cheeks," and "On Compassion" and student sample essays.

Worksheet analyzing "Fish Cheeks" and "Spelling Yiffniff" due Tuesday.

Topic for Narrative essay due Wednesday.

Rough Draft of Narrative due Monday (print out for class before class)
