Period 7: This week we will be continuing our study of American literature with a look at the stories "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut, "After You My Dear Alphonse" by Shirley Jackson, and "The Devil and Daniel Webster" by Stephen Benet.
Monday: No homework due; reading "After You My Dear Alphonse." in class; "Harrison Bergeron" and questions due Wednesday.
Tuesday: A day (no class)
Wednesday: Discussion of "Harrison Bergeron" and "After You My Dear Alphonse." Thursday begins our study of the Declaration of Independence as we begin to put the pieces together concerning what "American" means and what "independence" means.
