Week of Nov. 3rd through Nov. 7th

Reminder: There is a two hour delayed opening for students Tuesday Nov. 4th. There will be no Spartan Seminar that day as a result.


Period 1: We will be reading chapters 15 and 16 in class on Monday to discuss the pivotal role they play in Huck's development. The quotation analysis packet is due on Wednesday, Nov. 5th. Tuesday-Thursday will be a study of satire in the book thus far and elements of satire in general. Chapters 17 and 18 are due on Friday.

Period 2: We will be preparing topics for the upcoming Cause/Effect Research Paper and discussing the research done for the documentary Happy on Monday. Tuesday we will be discussing research protocol and citation requirements for research. Thursday-Friday we will begin watching Freakonomics to continue our discussion of Cause/Effect structure and research needs and the mini-research project for this documentary will be assigned.



Period 4: We will be reading chapter 24 in class and finishing our study of satire from chapters 17-23 on Monday. Chapters 25-28 are due on Wednesday. Chapters 29 and 30 are due on Thursday.We will be reading chapter 31 on Friday and focusing our study on Huck's development before the final chapters of the book.

Period 5: We will be peer editing our research papers on Tuesday. Papers are due Wednesday and discussing our findings. Thursday we will begin a study of different possible scenarios in tutoring that can occur and how to manage these.
