Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and vacation!
Periods 1 and 3:
We will be doing prep work on the Salem witch trials and viewing Arthur Miller's The Crucible. After watching the movie we will have a discussion about his purpose in creating this play/film and McCarthyism.
The Scarlet Letter portion of the identity essay is due Tuesday 12/8 and I will be collecting books at that point.
Period 5:
Revising and finishing essay on The Crucible. Final draft due Wednesday. We will then be studying McCarthyism and its connections to Miller's purpose in writing The Crucible and creating a visual project to go along with this connection.
Period 6:
Freakonomics research project is due Monday 11/30. Research essay source summaries are due Wednesday 12/2. Working on rough draft of Cause/Effect Research essay, due Monday 12/7.
Period 7:
Research paper #2 due Tuesday 12/1. We will begin our work on independent study/individualized projects (see assignment breakdown handout for this marking period).
