Week of 1/11 through 1/15

Reminder: there is a minimum (half) day for students on Friday 1/15 to allow for teacher professional development. All 8 periods will be meeting on this day in a combination C/D day schedule.


Period 1:

Chapter 8 of Ethan Frome is due on Monday 1/11. Chapter 9 and the conclusion will be due on Tuesday. Graded discussion Tuesday. We will continue our discussion of guilt/morality with regards to the text as well as our exploration of the theme of the individual in conflict with society and how it relates to this and all books read thus far this year. Midterm review will occur starting Thursday.

We will be reading chapter 31 in class.

Continue to gather materials and review the conflict between the individual and societal expectations/rules as it relates to this and all books we have read in preparation for the midterm.
