Week of 12/19 through 12/23

Reminder: Friday 12/23 is on a half-day (minimum day) schedule. Have a good vacation everyone!



Period 1:

Scarlet Letter symbolism project due Monday.

The Crucible Quotation analyses due Wednesday.

Reading "Why I Wrote The Crucible" by Arthur Miller and preparing for the in-class essay that students will complete the day we return from vacation.

Students will also be reading The House on Mango Street over the vacation and need to track quotations that they feel are important and emerging/larger themes within the book.




Period 3:

Printout of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn essay due Monday.

Beginning the novel Ellen Foster on Monday. Students should expect reading outside of class as homework.

Chapters 1 and 2 due Tuesday (with A. T-chart summary, B. Answers the questions, C. Own inquiry question)


Chapters 3 and 4 are due Thursday (with A. T-chart summary, B. Answers the questions, C. Own inquiry question)

Chapters 5-8 and worksheet due after vacation, Tuesday Jan. 4.




Period 5:

Final draft of Cause/effect research essay due Monday.

Beginning Definition writing unit.




Period 6:

Revising Cause/effect research essay.

Final draft due Wednesday Jan. 4, in print and on turnitin.com by 10:40 am. No late work, no plagiarism. Both will result in a zero on the assignment.




Period 7:
