Week of 1/3 through 1/6

Welcome back from vacation and happy new year!


Periods 1 and 7:

Tuesday: Writing in-class essay on The Crucible and its original message and modern messages we can take from the play today.

We will spend the rest of the week discussing The Crucible and The House on Mango Street read over the vacation.



Period 3:

Tuesday: Chapters 5-8 and worksheet due. Discussing Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and its connection to Ellen Foster. https://www.verywell.com/maslows-needs-hierarchy-2795961

Continuing our reading of the book with chapters 9-10 due Thursday.

Chapters 11-12 are due Friday.

Chapter 13 due Monday 1/9

Chapter 14 due Wednesday 1/11

Chapter 15 due Thursday 1/12

Friday 1/13 we will have a half day but review for the midterm (two essays, one on Ellen Foster and one on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn).



Period 5:

Working on Definition Essay assignment, due at the end of class on Friday.



Period 6:

Final draft of Cause/Effect research paper due in-class (printed) and on turnitin.com by the start of class Tuesday (10:40)

Working on final essay, due Tuesday 1/10.
