Please note I will be absent Thursday and Friday for a medical procedure. All work is expected to be complete when I return and good reports from the substitute teacher will also be expected.
Period 1:
Modernist and Harlem Renaissance poetry unit Monday-Thursday.
Beginning The Great Gatsby Friday with a worksheet (discussion purposes only but will be relayed in class Monday). Students are expected to read chapter 1.
Period 3:
Finishing The Crucible for Wednesday. Act 4 questions are due at the start of class Wednesday (reading to be finished for homework due to in-class behavior and participation issues).
Packet relating The Crucible to McCarthyism will be started on Wednesday. This will possibly turn into an essay writing assignment. Packet worth a total of 50 points (see questions and directions). We will be working on this through Friday.
Period 5:
Watching the documentary Happy. Students will complete research assignment related to the documentary for Monday (do not neglect any of the directions on the assignment).
Students will also be researching topic ideas for cause/effect writing Thursday. Topic idea will be due next week.
Period 6:
