Period 1: Questions for "The Cask of Amontillado" are due Monday 9/15.

Grammar Quiz retake is on Tuesday 9/16.

"Home" description (Homework Assignment #1) is due Wednesday 9/17.

"The House on Mango Street" Question Set #2 is due Friday. (We will be doing Question Set #1 in class)

Question Set #3 is due Monday 9/22.



Period 2: "Silk Parachute" and "How It Feels to Be Colored Me" description and thesis analysis due Monday. Topic for own description/example essay is due Tuesday. Reading "Bob the Dog" Monday to finish off "person" description models. Reading "Barrio" and "Ground Zero" for "place" description essays. ("Barrio" is homework due Tuesday with notes)

Rough Draft of Description/Example essay is due Monday 9/22




Period 4: "Home" description (Homework Assignment #1) and Vocabulary (Homework Assignment #2) are due Monday. Question set #1 will be due Tuesday. We will be continuing reading "The House on Mango Street" and working towards topic ideas for students' own personal vignettes.

Question set #2 is due Thursday.
Question set #3 is due Friday.




Period 5: "The Age of the Essay" (http://www.paulgraham.com/essay.html) Reader Response is due Monday. Continued work on drafting/prewriting strategies in class Monday. We will be in the Room 107 computer lab Wednesday-Friday to continue participation in writing strategies and composing the History of a Writer Narrative Essay.
