Period 1:
Working in the Media Center computer lab on Monday on vignette writing. Rough draft of vignette is due Thursday. We will be peer editing in class to discuss ways of giving and receiving feedback on writing and things to consider as we prepare to revise them.
Friday we will continue with our reading of The House on Mango Street and taking notes to track thematic patterns/ideas. Finishing the book is due for Monday.
Final draft of the vignette assignment is due Wednesday.
Period 2: We will be discussing college application writing/essays Monday in class and reviewing sample essays and the questions as we review our own work done thus far.
Period 4:
Peer editing vignette rough drafts (due Monday). We will be peer editing in class to discuss ways of giving and receiving feedback on writing and things to consider as we prepare to revise them.
Finish The House on Mango Street for Wednesday. Track themes for each chapter in your notes to prepare for a final essay on the book. (pages 76-92 were the focus Friday 9/23 in class)
Period 5:
Reader Response to Chapter 3 of Longman's Guide is due Tuesday (we will be discussing this and the tutoring process in class). The final draft of the narrative essay will be due by Oct. 29th (can be submitted at any point before this as well)
