Week of 3/30 through 4/2

Reminder: There is no school on Friday.


Period 1:

As of Monday we are finished with chapter 8 of The Great Gatsby.

Independent Reading final responses (3 posts) are due on Wednesday 4/1.

We will be writing an essay over the next week connecting the traditional cover art to the novel.

Period 4:

We are finished our reading of The Great Gatsby. Discussions of the ending of the novel will resume on Tuesday.

Reflection on the ending due Wednesday (Is the ending hopeless? Is it meant to give hope? Is the point something else?)

Thursday we will begin our transition to Romeo and Juliet with a discussion of language and identity.




Period 5:

We will spend Tuesday in the Media Center computer lab learning research technique, the pros and cons of using easybib.com and topic ideas for future student research proposals.

Happy documentary research assignment is due on Wednesday. We will be having an in-class discussion of your research (so do not forget to bring your print-outs and written work).

Research Proposal will be due Thursday 4/9.




Period 7:

We will spend Monday in the Media Center computer lab learning research technique, the pros and cons of using easybib.com and topic ideas for future student research proposals.

As of Monday we are finished with chapter 8 of The Great Gatsby. Tuesday we completed the activity breaking down the cover art and creating a thesis idea for the comparison essay.

Independent Reading final responses (3 posts) are due on Wednesday 4/1.
