Week of 11/2 through 11/6

Reminder: There is no school for students on Tuesday November 3rd.


Periods 1 and 3:

We will continue our study of The Scarlet Letter with chapters 7 and 8 Monday and Chapter 9 Wednesday/Thursday. In-class conferences on student writing/past essays will also continue during this time. Chapters 10 and 11 are due Friday.

Continue adding to notes and ideas for Major Essay #2 from the novel. Continue exploration of the idea of identity and its basis.



Period 5:

We will be reading from the play The Crucible in class. Study guide questions are to be completed as we read/for homework.




Period 6:

We will be viewing the documentary Happy as an introduction to our Cause/Effect unit. Research project for this movie will be conducted at home and in class Thursday. Research is due Friday for the class discussion.



Period 7:

Peer tutoring in-class to review research essays and prepare for revision. Final draft due Wednesday (may be delayed until Thursday if more time is needed).
